Description

Restore proper rear suspension performance and wheel control with the MEYLE Rear Upper Fore Link, designed for applicable Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.

Also known as a rear upper forward control arm, upper fore link, or rear upper control link, this suspension component is located in the upper-forward position of the rear multi-link suspension. It works with the other rear suspension links to help maintain proper wheel positioning, suspension geometry, and handling.

This MEYLE replacement is designed for Tesla applications using OE part number 1044427-00-C and corresponding OE revisions.

A worn, damaged, or bent rear upper fore link can contribute to rear suspension noise, changes in alignment, uneven tire wear, and reduced handling stability. Replacing the affected component helps restore the rear suspension to its intended operating geometry.

Important Fitment Note

Tesla has used different revisions of rear suspension components throughout Model 3 and Model Y production.

Verify the OE number on your original rear upper fore link before ordering.

The fore link and aft link are different suspension components and are not interchangeable.

What Does the Rear Upper Fore Link Do?

The rear upper fore link is one of the links that make up Tesla’s independent multi-link rear suspension.

It is positioned in the upper-forward location of the rear suspension and works with the other control arms to maintain the position of the rear wheel as the suspension moves.

Together with the rear upper aft link and lower suspension links, it helps control suspension geometry during:

• Acceleration
• Braking
• Cornering
• Bumpy road conditions
• Suspension compression and rebound

Maintaining the correct suspension geometry helps keep the tire properly positioned relative to the road and contributes to predictable handling.

Signs of a Worn or Damaged Rear Upper Fore Link

A damaged or worn rear upper fore link can affect the vehicle’s suspension geometry and may produce symptoms such as:

• Rear suspension clunking
• Knocking over bumps
• Rear-end instability
• Uneven tire wear
• Alignment changes
• Changes in handling
• Excessive rear suspension movement
• Creaking or other suspension noises

A bent control arm can also alter the rear suspension geometry even if the bushing itself appears to be in good condition.

If the vehicle has experienced an impact with a pothole, curb, or collision, the rear upper fore link should be inspected for bending or damage.

Rear Upper Fore Link vs. Rear Upper Aft Link

It is important not to confuse these two components.

Rear Upper Fore Link

Position: Upper / Forward

Tesla OE: 1044427-00-C

This is the product on this page.

Rear Upper Aft Link

Position: Upper / Aft

Tesla OE: 1188423-00-A

These are separate components with different positions and applications.

The fore and aft links are not interchangeable.

Left or Right Side

The rear upper fore link is used in the left or right rear suspension position for applicable vehicles.

The same component can be used on either side, depending on the vehicle application.

If replacing both sides, two units are required.

Sold Individually

This product is sold as one control arm per unit, not as a pair.

EVANNEX Ordering Guide

Replacing one side:

Installation

Professional installation is recommended.

Because this component is part of the rear suspension geometry, proper installation and torque procedures are important.

After replacing a rear suspension control arm, a four-wheel alignment is strongly recommended to verify rear camber and toe settings.

Follow the appropriate Tesla service procedures and torque specifications for the specific vehicle.
