How Does Copper Paste Work?

1. Surface Coating:
The paste forms a thin, even layer on the surfaces of components, filling micro-irregularities and reducing wear.
2. Copper as a Barrier:
Copper particles prevent direct metal-to-metal contact, minimizing friction and wear under high-pressure conditions.
3. Chemical Stability:
Resists oxidation and chemical reactions, ensuring that the paste remains effective even in aggressive environments.
4. Heat Dissipation:
Helps distribute heat evenly across treated surfaces, reducing the risk of thermal damage.

How to Use Liqui Moly Copper Paste

1. Surface Preparation:
Ensure that the components are clean and free from dirt, oil, or previous lubricants.
2. Application:
   • Use a brush or applicator to spread a thin, even layer of paste on the surface.
   • For threads, coat the male and female parts to ensure full coverage.
3. Assembly:
Assemble the components as required. The paste will provide immediate lubrication and protection.
4. Maintenance:
Reapply during regular maintenance to ensure continued protection and efficiency.

Best Practices for Using Copper Paste

1. Avoid Overuse:
A thin layer is sufficient; excessive paste can lead to buildup.
2. Use on Non-Moving Parts:
While effective for threaded and static joints, avoid using on parts requiring fluid motion.
3. Pair with Proper Tools:
Use high-quality tools to achieve the right torque and prevent damage.
4. Follow Manufacturer Guidelines:
Refer to component manuals to ensure compatibility and proper application.

Common Misuses and How to Avoid Them

1. Using on Brake Pads Friction Surface:
Copper paste should only be applied to the back of brake pads or caliper bolts, not on the friction surface.
2. Over-Application:
Excessive paste can attract dirt and debris, causing operational inefficiencies.
3. Mixing with Other Lubricants:
Avoid mixing with incompatible greases or oils, as it may degrade performance.

Signs You Need Copper Paste

1. Difficulty in Disassembling Components:
Seized bolts and threads during maintenance indicate a need for anti-seize paste.
2. Noisy Brakes:
Squealing or squeaking brakes may benefit from Copper Paste on the back of the pads.
3. Rust and Corrosion:
Visible rust on threads, bolts, or joints highlights the need for protective lubrication.
4. Heat Damage:
Discoloration or deformation of bolts in exhaust systems signifies high thermal stress, requiring Copper Paste for protection.

Maintenance Tips

1. Regular Inspections:
Check treated areas for signs of wear or corrosion, and reapply paste as necessary.
2. Store Properly:
Keep the paste in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly sealed to maintain its properties.
3. Replace When Contaminated:
If the paste becomes contaminated with dirt or debris, replace it with fresh paste to ensure effectiveness.
4. Use Compatible Cleaners:
Clean components with compatible solvents before applying Copper Paste to ensure adherence.

Environmental Considerations

1. Safe Disposal:
Dispose of empty containers according to local waste regulations.
2. Non-Toxic Formula:
Designed with minimal environmental impact when used as directed.
